Anita Smith

As a long-time advocate for community development and social impact, joining the HFF Board aligns perfectly with my dedication to making a positive difference in people's lives. I am deeply committed to advancing the mission of the HFF and I believe leveraging my skills and experience to contribute meaningfully to its goals.

With over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, I have a passion for talent management and organizational development. As a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) HR Executive, I am known for my expertise in all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. My career began with a Fortune 100 company, where I gained valuable experience in various HR roles, such as Recruiting and HR Management. Throughout my career, I have led initiatives focused on enhancing employee engagement, promoting diversity and inclusion, and improving the overall employee experience.

Currently, I serve as the President & Founder at Diversified Recruiting. I launched Diversified Recruiting to make a real impact with a focus that goes beyond traditional HR services and a dedication to helping nonprofits build diverse, high-performing teams that drive meaningful change. Guided by core values, I am rewriting the rules of HR, proving that change is not just possible but necessary. Additionally, I am deeply integrated into a local school system, where I am providing over 500 graduating 2024 seniors with free resume writing assistance and interview best practices, ensuring they are equipped for success as they embark on their professional journeys.

I am recognized for my strategic thinking and ability to drive business results through effective HR strategies. I am a sought-after mentor, sharing my insights and expertise with other HR professionals across the industry. In addition to my professional achievements, I am deeply committed to giving back to my community. I am an active volunteer for several non-profit organizations, including being an active Board Member of Girls on The Run of Central Ohio. I am also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO), and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), where I assist in writing HR certification exams. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and volunteering in my community.

I am excited about the opportunity to bring my expertise, passion, and commitment to the HFF Board. If elected, I am eager to collaborate with fellow board members to drive meaningful change and create lasting impact in our communities.
