Dowd Education Programs

A child in the Home for Families afterschool program works on homework.

Through our Dowd Education Programs, we provide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) focused academic programming for children in grades K-8. Families who are income eligible (200% Federal Poverty Level or below) may apply to enroll in our Dowd Education programming.

We feature both Afterschool and Summer Achievers programs that provide education and intervention that supports the Ohio Department of Education standards and local school curriculums. We also work to build children’s social skills, self-esteem, and healthy habits by providing daily nutritious meals, fitness and recreation activities, field trips, and presentations from organizations supporting education and well-being.

Our Dowd Education Programs also provide stabilizing resources and support services to the families of enrolled students. Families can utilize our resource pantry, access seasonal items including school supplies and holiday toys, and receive financial assistance for emergency needs.
