Kindergarten Readiness
SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) is a family-focused, kindergarten readiness program offered in English and Spanish for children ages 3-4.
Families who are income eligible (200% Federal Poverty Level or below) may apply to enroll in our Dowd Education programming. We also offer a special program for children who are age 5 but are not yet attending kindergarten.
SPARK lessons are aligned with Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards, and we partner with parents and guardians to provide engaging lessons and hands-on activities during home visits lasting about an hour. Lessons occur every three weeks for a year with flexible scheduling, and book kits with crayons, paper, reading lessons, and more are provided to families.
All SPARK program families can utilize our resource pantry, access season items including school supplies and holiday toys, and receive financial assistance for emergency needs.
